Haitian Language

Haitian is the French-based creole language spoken by the majority of Haitians. The language is derived from West African languages, primarily from various Mande and Fon dialects. A significant portion of the vocabulary is derived from French, with some vocabulary also being derived from TaĆno and Spanish. Haitian Creole is the second most spoken language in the United States by persons for whom English is not a native language (after Spanish). Haitian Creole is used as an unofficial language in radio ads, popular music, and TV dramas.
