Esperanto Language
Esperanto is an international auxiliary language. It is the most widely spoken constructed language in the world. The Polish-Jewish ophthalmologist L. L. Zamenhof (1859–1917) created Esperanto as a simple way to learn a second language and to foster peace and international understanding. The name Esperanto derives from Doktoro Esperanto, the pseudonym under which Zamenhof published the first book detailing the language, Unua Libro ("The First Book"), in 1887. The word itself means "one who hopes". Zamenhof's goal was to create an easy and flexible language as a universal second language to foster peace and international understanding. The language is primarily intended to be learned by children as they grow up, rather than being taught formally in schools.
