Irish Language
The Irish language is a Goidelic or Gaelic language of the Indo-European language family, originating in Ireland and historically spoken by the Irish people. Irish is now spoken as a first language only in a small part of Donegal, most of Kerry, and parts of Mayo and Galway, with smaller communities speaking it in Counties Derry and Waterford. It has the oldest vernacular literature in Western Europe.
