Welsh Language

Composed of several dialects, the Welsh language is a Celtic language of the Indo-European family. It is spoken by approximately half a million people in Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland. A Welsh speaker may encounter some difficulties when travelling to areas where Welsh is rarely spoken. Some use English as their first language, or have an accent or dialect not easily understood by speakers of Standard English.
