Burmese Language

Burmese (abbreviated Bama) is the official and primary language of Myanmar. It is most commonly spoken in the central, southern, and eastern regions of the country, as well as in Yangon. The relative majority of Burmese speakers live in Burma (Myanmar), which is the second largest country by population. Burmese has also been officially recognized as a minority language in Australia since the 1970s, which is home to over one million Burmese speakers.
